April 9, 2026 The PLACE: Moving From Autism Awareness to Autism Acceptance

April 9, 2026

Anna Robertson and Cheyenne King of CTA Community Supports join Fox 13’s The PLACE to talk about Autism Acceptance Month and the work that continues long after April ends. CTA is a Utah nonprofit that has served people on the autism spectrum since 1985, supporting more than a hundred people across more than 30 group homes statewide through residential services, adult day and after-school programs, professional parenting, and host homes. Awareness, they argue, is largely here — acceptance is the harder part, and it means more compassion and accommodation in workplaces, hospitals, schools, and law enforcement. Cheyenne oversees CTA’s community-based services, which encourage the people CTA supports to explore their communities and pursue community-integrated employment. Beyond April, the team stays visible year-round with picnics alongside local police, Easter egg hunts, and ongoing company partnerships.
