Direct Support Professional

To become a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you must be at least 18 years old, pass a criminal background check, have a desire to help people, and have reliable transportation to ensure you can arrive at work on time.

We offer both full time (30 hours+) and part time positions.

We have two full-time recruiters so you can usually get started in less than a week!

You have to be 18 years or older to work at CTA. For our positions which require employees to drive CTA company vehicles, you need to be 19 years or older.

You need to be 19 years or older, have a Utah Driver’s License for at least two years, and a clean driving record.

We offer health, dental, and vision insurance. We offer a 401K plan for retirement with a 401k match. CTA will match 100% of the first 3% of your contributed wages, and half of the wages you contribute between 4% and 5%. There is a small waiting period for both our insurance and 401K plans.

Employees who work 30 or more hours per week (60 hours in a pay period) will accrue 4 hours of PTO after an initial 90 day waiting period. You can max out at 12 days PTO within a calendar year.

A great attitude! This job is not easy and we need staff that can be flexible and kind to the people we support. You need a clean background check. Having experience with people with autism spectrum disorder and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities would be great, but is not required.

We have an amazing training program for new employees called CTA University. You complete seven shifts with a member of management, complete online learning, and take three training classes with an instructor. Although no training can completely prepare you for a job, we strive to get close.

We have a wonderful employee assistance program with Blomquist Hale that provides FREE unlimited therapy visits via phone, Zoom, or in-person visits for any employee and anyone in their household . We know the importance of mental health and want our employees to take care of themselves.

Absolutely! We want all our Assistant Managers and Managers to experience being a Direct Support Professional first. The best leaders are those who know what each employee experiences. We only want the best for the people we support.

It will be like no other job you have ever had! CTA is not your usual work environment. The people we support are hands down the best individuals you have ever met. They are wonderful human beings who have some challenges (don’t we all) and we train our employees to support them in residential home and program settings. This job requires a great attitude (no folding your arms here!), a willingness to have fun, and someone who can smile while dealing with a little chaos now and then. CTA's Job Settings

Residential Positions

In our homes, you have the opportunity to work with a smaller team and support 3-4 people that live there. Positions in our homes are typically afternoons/evenings, graveyards, and anytime on the weekends. Residential services runs 24X7!

Day Programs

Day services provides an activity based environment for people who are not attending school or working during the day. Day programs are immersed in the Exploration program out in the community and fun stuff for people who would rather stay in! Hours for our day programs are typically Monday through Friday from around 7am to 6PM.

After-School Programs

Designed to give school-age children and children with developmental and intellectual disabilities a positive place for learning and fun in the afternoon and evening hours. These programs primarily run Monday through Saturday, with some Sunday shifts as well. Day hours are also available during the summer break.
